New Years
Well one more hour and then we "ring" in the new year 2011. I sit and reflect over the year. It has been not a bad year until about Christmas time and then there seemed to be a lot of deaths of family of friends. I am hoping that 2011 will be a much better year, especially with my weight loss. WW was cancelled this week so could not weight after Christmas. Now have to wait another week. Had family over for chinese food and New Years celebration. They just left, that is when I know that I am getting old and can not make it to midnight. Well hope everyone has a very happy new years

boxing day
Well Christmas is over for another year. Trying to eat up all the leftovers today so that the frig only contains the good stuff fresh fruit and veggies. Made a pot of soup today but put leftover brown rice and leftover fat free ham in it. It was good but a little salty from the ham. Probably about 5 points a cup. Starting counting points today but then got into a tin of Quality Street chocolates whcih happen to be my most favourite chocolates. I decided to eat the flavours I like today and then throw out all the rest tomorrow. Tomorrow is Monday so going to start the week off right by eating probably. I am now thinking I probably won't go to ww on Wednesday because I definitely gained weight.

Christmas day
Well I made it through Christmas day even though my belt has been loosened a few times. Had a great day with family and ate lots of good food. Had a huge breakfast of bacon, eggs, fruit, toast, coffee and hash browns with part of the family and then we went up to my sisters and had a huge turkey, potatoes, gravy, squash, sweet potatoes, salads, peas and mushroom sauce, turnip, fresh fruit and lovely dessert with whip cream, mini marshmallows and raspberrries. to say the least I am very full and only had cheese and crackers for supper with some chocolate to finish it off. Santa was good to me and brought me chocolate and more chocolate. Not sure what I am going to do with it but certainly going to try and not eat it all. Tomorrow is another day and going to try and eat very light. going to make a veggie soup in the morning which will have few points and then going to eat lots of fruit to hopefully "flush" everything out of my body before Wednesday.
Might try and get on the treadmill tomorrow.

Christmas eve
Well it is Christmas eve. I already ate too much and it is not even Christmas day yet. Oh well there was some family around today and the neighbors came by to wish us a merry Christmas. Got a new scale and it seems to be pretty close to what ww scales are. I have gained a couple of pounds but will hopefully loose those before weigh in. I am planning on going to weigh in even if I have gained weight which will be good for me because before I would not have gone if I thought I was going to gain. Well lots of food and drinks tomorrow.

getting closer to Christmas
So 2 days before Christmas and I am not afraid at all about what I am going to eat or how much I am going to eat on Christmas day. That is because I know that fruit and most vegetables are free and also that I have 49 additional points to use. Having family tomorrow night for a night of muchies and good laughs.
I am going to make a cheese dip which is really good and hopefully I don't eat to much of it. going to make a vegetable soup in the morning which will help fill me help and allow me to save my points for the evening meal. Have to run to the grocery store first thing in the morning so hopefully not too busy.
Make "ham fried rice" for supper which was really good. Have 4 days off work which I am going to enjoy and maybe even get my bedroom reorganized. I want to rearrange my closet to make room for my bookcases which frees up room in my room itself. well must run and watch Holmes Inspection

Lost weight
So today was my first weigh-in at ww and I lost 5.6 pounds. which is not bad considering that I had a big dinner Saturday another one on sunday and then last night at work we had lots of home baked goodies and chocolates. I tried to limit myself and tried to eat more of the fruit offered than the baked goods. Once the meeting was over went and bought lots more fruit because it is free. I bought pineapple, bananas, apples , raspberries and blueberries. I am going to make a big fruit salad for christmas breakfast and try and eat lots of the fruit. Christmas day is going to be hard keeping on track but do have my 49 points which I am planning on using then so that should help. Starting to snow out which means a snowy drive to work tonight. Oh well tonight and tomorrow of work and then off for 4 days can hardly wait. Hope to get my treadmill on the go next week which will also help.

Getting ready to go out for dinner
just getting ready to go out for dinner with fellow co-workers. They have a corporate dinner party but we don't like to go to that so we all go out for dinner at one of the local restaurants. Hopefully every one comes it should be a good time. the only thing is what do i eat. I was good today only eating one of the cookies I made yesterday. Had lots of broccoli slaw salad today. Therefore have lots of points available for dinner but some of the weekly points. I used some of them last night when I had dinner at my sisters. she had ham, scalloped potatoes, corn caesar salad and some homemade raspberry/blueberry pie. I over ate but knew that was going to happern so had planned my day.

One day at a time

I am not sure why I am doing this but here it goes. I decided to join Weight Watchers on Wednesday. I know why join so close to Christmas. I am hoping that by joining close to Christmas it will help me keep in line during Christmas. The Weight Watchers program is a new one and it is hard getting use to the fact that fruits and most vegetables are 'free". Today I made some chocolate chip cookies and I am going to try and be good and not eat too many of them,
Sitting here watching out the window at all the birds eating around the feeder and on the deck. Right now there is doves and junkels having lunch with the ducks down below.
I hope to write every day but we should see if that really happens. Follow my journay as I try and improve my health and lose weight over the next year.
For my 50th birthday year I want to bike across Canada and need to lose weight to be able to start to train on my bike. Hopefully by spring I will have lost enough weight that I can start to ride my bike and begin training for my unltimate goal
