not feeling well

I lost 4 pounds this week and am down to 214 lbs.  Seems like a lot which it is but have not been feeling well and actually went to the emergency dept the other morning.  Told me it was likely an ovarian cyst that had burst.  It felt like my appendix but glad it wasn't.
Haven't been doing any exercise either which is not good.  Really considering joining a gym, but must wait for my new job to kick in so that I know what available money I will have to put towards a gym membership.
Trying to eat more healthy could never totally give up meat, eggs or milk products but am going to try and eat healthier.

A walking we will go

I was down another 0.4 lbs this week which totally surprised me but made me very happy.  With a little bit cooler weather happening I have decided I had better get out and get walking.  I walked this morning and  I have decided that I had better get a better pair of shoes.  I am going to have to breakdown and go to a real shoe store and get a really good pair of walking shoes no matter how much they cost.  This weekend is the baby shower for my nieces twin girls and there will be lots of food so must plan accordingly.  I have to take a macaroni salad so am going to research a lower calorie option. 
My clothes are getting looser and looser so definitely will have to buy some new clothes come the fall.  I don't even know what size I am but definitely not the size I use to be.  I really have to start to do some exercises for my stomach because it is starting to sag because of the loose skin and actually I look gross without any clothes on.  Wish I could afford a tummy tuck.

HOT

I was down another 0.4 lbs today.  I figure that is very good because I have not been walking at all this last week and probably won't until at least the weekend.  Tomorrow it is suppose to be about 44 C with the humidex.
Going to have family for dinner on Saturday night and am planning on having vegetable kebobs and chicken satays.  I have learned to love fennel which I do on the bbq in foil with a little balsamic vinegar and sea salt.  it becomes almost sweet and has a very faint licorce flavour.  It is extremely good.
I have also got my cross stitching bug back which is good because it keeps my hands busy and my mind off food.  presently I am working on 2 projects, a Blue Heron and a black and white one called Treasures which is a SAL through the HAED discussion board.
Well must go and drink more water and doing  some cross stitching.

Wow long time

wow it has been a long time since I have posted.  I am now down 35.8lbs.  It has been a long road but am still ejoying the journay.  As I sit and watch the tour de france I still think about biking across Canada.  I want to do it the year that I am 50 so have 11/2 years  to get to my goal weight and get in shape to do the ride.  I have been walking a little bit doing about 3.5 miles per day.  However, that has gone a little awry because the weather has been extremely hot.  If I am to ride across the country I must get use to the hot weather but at the moment can't think of that.
I also have to consider how I am going to afford to take 3 months off work to do the ride.  If I won the lottery I won't have second thoughts but the chance of that is slim to none.  I also would like at least one other person to ride with me just to help me stay sane and also for security reasons.  First things first though as I have at least another 75 pounds to lose.  I have also gained some inspiration from a young lady from Georgia who lost over 100 pounds and then went on to win the Miss Georgia title and is going to try for the Miss USA title.  She lost her weight the natural way through diet and exercise.
I have been trying lots of  new vegetables,  I love fennel roasted on the bbq with a little balsamic vinegar done in foil.  I also love asparagus grilled on the bbq.  It seems to sweeten it up a little bit. 
Well I must go to work in this extreme heat.

okay time to get serious

okay for the last 3 weeks my weight loss has been almost non excistant.  I must get back at it seriously if I have any chance of reaching my goal of riding my bike across Canada next year.  Today I was suppose to go and meet a friend to go walking.  They never showed up so what did I do?  Go walking by myself oh no I went to Dairy Queen and had a large dipped ice cream cone.  That is 18 points so my weekly points are now gone.
I bought fennel this week and am going to cook it for supper tomorrow night.  We were given the challenge at ww to try a new vegetable so that will be my vegetable.  I am going to roast it with oil and balsamic vineger.  It is suppose to have a licorce flavor so will see,  I have not been walking at all this week and must quit coming up with excuses why I don't go walking and get off my arse and get out there.

Oh my eating out way too much

Was at my niece's and her husband's yesterday to help her shop for baby stuff but also ate out twice.  Goint to East Side mario's for lunch and then having Domino's pizza for supper.  Then if that was not enough when I got home I had toast and nutella at about 11 p.m.  I am thinking I had better get out for a walk today.  It is suppose to rain this afternoon so had better get out this morning.  I imagine I am going to be up in weight this week because have not been out walking as much as I should have.  Also was out for supper on Friday night so things are not good this week.  probably spent 2 weeks worth of points plus extras this weekend alone.

pedometer

So this week I lost 1 pound.  I also bought a ww pedometer.  My goal will be to walk 10000 steps per day.  So far I have been successful.  I am not sure how accurate the pedometer really is but will continue to wear it.  I don't notice it at all when I am wearing it and is easy to read without having to take it off my belt loop.  I am now down 28.4 pounds and am really able to start to wear some of my ''skinnier' clothes that are in my closet.  I actually got out my eeyore jacket yesterday, which is one of my most prized possession and can actually get it down up. 
I need to start to do some exercises to tone up my stomach but for those that know me know that I don't like exercising but will have to do something or my stomach will be down to my knees.

How to get the exercise in

Well I lost another 1.8 pounds this week.  Now if I could figure out how to get some exercise in.  I have been doing  some walking at the local track but with the nice weather I should be outside.  If I get energetic in the morning maybe I will take a walk around the block.  Hopefully once I get outside and do some walking I will get into it and do more of it.  I really need to do some exercise to start to tone up this flabby body.

slowly getting in more exercise

well the weather around here is finally getting a little warmer.  Only lost 0.2 pounds this past week but that is mostly due to the fact I wasn't walking as much.  I have been out twice since Wednesday which is good for me.  I still haven't gone walking outside just at the local arena on the track there.  Going for lunch today at Boston Pizza, will be interesting to see what I have.  i find that the points for Boston Pizza are really high.  Going to make beef and broccoli for supper tonight using my own recipe.  Hopefully it turns out.

reached my first goal

Well I reached my first goal this past Wednesday.  I reached my first 25 pounds off and my 10% weight loss.  I reached a little weight and a key chain.  I was very happy to do that. 
tonight is a different story, I feel like I could eat everything in the house and not really care about points.  I already had Swiss Chalet chicken and fries and then 3 100 calorie chocolate bars for dessert.  I could still gobble done more especially if there was chipc in the house .  Good thing there isn't

WOW what a surprise

Well today was weigh-in day at ww.   I was sure that I was up as it has not been a good week but, surpriseingly enough I actually lost 0.8 pounds.  I do have to get out and do some exercise was suppose to go and walk tonight at the walking track but it is quite the snow storm out there so didn't against it. 
I have the dentist tomorrow so that should be a good day for not eating as I am getting a filling and maybe a tooth extraction.
My teeth are not too good and have gum disease so will be losing some of my teeth as they are already not good.

Been a few days

It has been a few days since my last post.  Just busy I guess.  Well last week I lost another 2.2 pounds now down 22 pounds.  Almost at my 10%.  I tell you the free fruit is a life saver.  I did have a bit of a "meltdown" the other day.  I had been to the dentist, first time in about 5-6 years.  I found out that I have gum disease and will eventually lose all my teeth.  The dentist and hygenist are going to try and slow down the disease and hopefully allow me to keep my teeth for a while.  I do have 3 extremely lose teeth that I will lose shortly 2 of them are my wisdom teeth of which I still have all 4 so that is not too bad.  Well that day on the way to work I stopped at the dollar store and bought chocolate.  I did only buy an Aero easter egg which is relatively small but it was like I don't care I need chocolate.
Had a big chinese dinner last night.  Was suppose to go to the one sister's and each of us was to bring a homemade chinese dish.  I was going to make lemon chcken.  The weather was not good so we cancelled that but did end up going to another sister's and ordering in chinese food.  I didn't overdo it so that was good but did thoroughly enjoy it..  Then had ice cream and a caramel square for dessert.
Have been trying to go to the local walking track and get some walking in.  Did the other day and actually walked 20 laps which is about 4 km.  That is the most I have walked in a long time.  Might try and get out this afternoon to the track for a walk.

YAHOO

Yahoo down 3 pounds this week.  Now down 19.8 pounds and on a double positive note actually went walking tonight.  Our town just built a new arena and they built a walking track which goes around the top of the arena.  Went over with a friend and definitely will go back again, hopefully, tomorrow.  5 laps around is about 1 kilometer and probably did about 15 laps tonight, but not sure as we lost track.  Will take my mp3 player with me tomorrow to listen to some music.

Family day

Well today was family day.  Had a great day with some of the family visiting.  Did however spend the whole day in a chair.  Once agian didn't do any exercise all weekend.  Just filled my face.  I must get up off my arse and get some exercise going.  I just can't seem to get motivated to do it.  I guess because I am losing weight so far without much exercise I am being very complacent.  Maybe when I stop losing weight I will get the picture that I have to get some exercise in to help with the weight loss.  Even though I filled my face all weekend I did try and eat healthy.

WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TODAY

What the heck happened today.  It didn't start out too bad foodwise.  I had oatmeal for lunch then chicken fajitas for lunch.  For supper had Swiss Chalet as a splurge about 25 points but used some of my weekly points.  Then it started after suppe.  I had hot chocolate, melon, some snack mix and now am drinking some tea.  this is the worse I have been since I started on this jouney.  Must find some good fruit when I am doing my shopping tomorrow.   Having a turkey dinner tomorrow night with family so must be good during the day.

another good weight lose week

Well another good week for weight loss.  I lost 1.8 pounds this week.  Now at 16.8 pounds down which is pretty good for me.
Usually for me on Wednesdays, I eat junk food for most of the day.  Well, not this week.  I did have a muffin but didn't really enjoy it.  I also had a Vanilla cappiccino from Tim's which I did enjoy.  I also bought a bag of Crisps and had a handfull and that was enough.  Hopefully, I will have more Wednesdays like that.  Going to lunch at Crabby Joe's tomorrow and can not seem to find any nutritional information on their menu items so I could plan ahead.  Guess I will have to play it by ear when I get there.

lost weight

I guess I forgot to update after last Wednesday but have been busy.  I lost another 2.2 pounds and am at 15 pounds lost to date.  The weather has been terrible, tired of all the snow.  Hopefully spring will be here soon.  I haven't even been exercising in the last week.  I really have to start back at the exercising.  Had a good weekend when it comes to food.  Had the family over for dinner everyone brought casseroles.  Had a little bit of each but didn't go overboard on any of it.  Had fruit and yogurt for dessert so that helped also.

another snow day on its way

Just listening to the weather report and it sounds like another snowstorm is on it's way for tonight and tomorrow.  I hope it don't get it because it means that ww will probably be cancelled again this week.  It was already cancelled last week.  That would mean 3 weeks without an official weight-in.  I don't like that idea.
I made a meatloaf recipe out of the ww cookbook on Sunday.  I am not a meatloaf lover but it was pretty good with oats, celery, carrots and onions added it.  It just needs to have a little bit more spice added to it.  If I make it again will try and spice it up.

This site has a lot of the fast food restaurant's food ww points plus numbers already figured out for you.  It can be kind of scary to look at the points values for some of the food listed but it really makes you stop and think before you go to order the food if you look at this website first.

Tried another new recipe

Tried 2 new recipes for supper tonight and they were pretty good.
The one was parmesan,garlic cauliflower.  Just cut up the cauliflower added some olive oil and a couple of cloves of garlic and baked in the oven at 400 for about 25 minutes and then added a couple of tablespoons of parmesan cheese when I brought it out of the oven.
the other dish was honey mustard pork chops.  I marinated pork chops in djon mustard, honey, black pepper and cidar vinegar.  I then cooked then on the george foreman grill.
Tomorrow I am going to try meatloaf.
I did 20 minutes on the Wii fit today it has been almost a year since I used it before.  I worked up a bit of a sweat.  I am really not coordinated so that doesn't help.

ww cancelled

So ww was cancelled today because of the weather.  I am a little ticked off because there was nothing on the radio and didn't find out until I went to where the meeting is held. Oh well had to buy a couple of things from the store anyways.  I am sure that I didn't lose weight this week anyways because I feel totally bloated.
I did get some exercise today by shovelling the driveway.  We only got 4-5 inches but it was heavy and blowed alot,  I didn't even go to work today because of the weather.  I believe that is the first time that I have even not gone to work because of the weather, but it didn't look good this morning.
Hopefully will continue to do some more exercise this week.

Getting in that exercise

Wow I did 20 miuntes of Leslie Salomines walking exercise video and nearly died.  Who would believe that walking good be so hard.  She incoporates other exercises into the walking so you are using all parts of your body.
Made a "moroccan stew" yesterday.  It turned out pretty good
here is what I basically put in my recipe
6 skinless chicken thighs
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can chickpeas
2 gloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon gingerroot
2 stalks celery
1 large onion minced
1/3 cup raisins
6 prunes roughly chopped
1/2 teaspoon paprika
3/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp tumeric
1/3 tsp chili pepper
put in crockpot and cook on low for 5-6 hours
this is the best that I can remember.
I also in the last hour put 1 cup of mushrooms and 1/2 head of cauliflower in the crockpot for the last hour so they didn't totally fall apart.
I would probably make it again but put a few more of the spices in it.
Hopefully will lose weight this week as I have been trying hard.

Made up own recipe

Made up my own stir fry sauce recipe today and it turned out pretty good.  A little sweet, sour, and hot at the same time.
I used the following to make it up
juice from 3 limes
1/4 cup orange juice
minced up 3 garlic cloves
1 tbsp mince ginger
1 heaping tbsp splenda brown sugar
1 tbsp soya sauce
mix these all together and let melt for about 15 minutes
cook your chicken and cut up assorted stir fry vegetables I used mushrooms, celery, baby bokco, onion, celery
It turned out pretty good and I figure along with 1 cup of brown rice is about 8 points. 

Went on the treadmill last night and got the treadmill up to 2.7mph.  I did my usual 25 minutes while watching a dvd of Sex and the City season 1.
Might get out tomorrow for a walk depending on the weather.  Hopefully it will be a nice day.

Yahoo 2.4 pounds

Yes this week I lost 2.4 pounds.  This coming week I am really going to try and get in more exercise because I feel better after I do it.  The local arena has a walking track that is free and really want to get over and give it a try.  My iPod is loaded with good walking music and I have a good pair of shoes so there is no exercise.

Exercuse DVD

Actually, for the first time ever, did some exercise from an exercise video.  I did 15 minutes of the video Leslie Simone's Walk at Home 1,2,3, mile walk.  It is pretty good and going to try and do the whole exercise routine tomorrow.  It is basically walking in place and then some side steps, kicks and high knees thrown in.  I realize I don't have much co-ordination.

Another great meal

Had another great family meal.  We try and get together once a week for supper.  We try and have a theme, tonights was soup.  I made a cheddar beer soup which went over very well.  It however was not very diet friendly.  It was 9 points for a cup.  There was also a beef vegetable soup which I didn;t try and also a corn shrimp chowder which I did try.  It was very good but also not diet friendly with corn and potatoes.  I did use my weekly points to cover the meal. For dessert I had fruit and frozen yogurt which was very good.  I have not been on the scales for 2 days so not sure how I have done.  Will get on tomorrow.  Will also have to try and get on the treadmill.  I bought a training video which is suppose to be a walking video.  Might try and get it out tomorrow also.

Time to get serious

Okay now time to get serious about this weight loss.  Yesterday I gained 1.2 pounds at ww which is not good.  I know I was not good this week so must refocus on my goal and get serious about this weight loss if I am going to ride my bike across Canada next year.  I got a couple of good ideas for exercise videos from a Facebook friend so am going to look for those videos and probably buy them.  It is a beautiful day out today even though it is cold and really should go for a walk outside which I might do soon. 
I must remember to write EVERYTHING down that crosses these lips and watch my potion sizes.

New pair of shoes

Finally got a new pair of running shoes yesterday.  I ended up buying the new Brooks "Toning' shoes.  Was on the treadmill last night and tonight.  They are alot more comfortable than my other shoes.  Pushed up the speed on my treadmill tonight.  Now I am doing 25 minutes at 2.2 mph.  I know that doesn't sound like a lot but when you have not been doing any physical exercise for over 2 years anything I do is better than nothing.  I don't think I am going to have weight loss this week.  Had too good of food over the weekend.  I know I must smarten up and start really watching what I am eating but it takes awhile to change bad habits.  Did have some great "fast food" yesterday. It was at a mexican restaurant where you can get whatever you want on a burrito or taco.  the restaurant is called Mucho Burrito.  Had a medium size burrito and it was all I could do to finish it.  The burritos also come in large and el grande would hate to try and eat an el grande one it must be HUGE.

lost more weight

Well I lost 1.5 lbs this week, which is really good connsidering how much food I ate on the weekend.  I think the biggest thing I have to do for the next week is get some exercise.  I just made a soda biscuit recipe.  It has soda crackers, butter, sugar free chocolate, nuts and splenda brown sugar.  A friend of mine made it a couple of weeks ago, not sure how mine is going to turn out.  Not really a ww recipe but with the splenda brown sugar and sugar free chocolate it should be a little better.
Need to get more fruit into my system especially watermelon, melon and cantelope.

Has a vision

Today is Monday and I have decided a new start is a must.  the weekend was not good for weight loss but decided that that would not get me down.  So this morning I awoke with a new outlook on my weight loss.  I am sitting here watching ``Village on a Diet`` and have learned a couple of things.  To put down my utensils between bites and also to drink sips of water between bites.  I am going to try that.  I have always been a fast eater because when I was growing up we had a farm and had to go there everyday to do the chores after supper so had to eat supper fast to get to the farm.
For those that know me,  I have always said that when I turn 50 I want to bike across Canada.  To do that I must lose this weight, over 100 pounds, before I can think about completing this journey. I have already started to read up on the training required for what I hope will be an incredable journey.

I am Full

Had a great dinner with family tonight.  I cooked a small turkey and there is not much left of it.  My sister brought brussels sprouts and carrots which she had made a sauce for and cooked them in the oven.  I have never liked brussel sprouts but actually tried them and they weren't too bad.  I ate over my points I know but will use up some of weekly points and should be good.  Never got on my treadmill today but hope to tomorrow.  I don't think I have lost any weight this week so have to start to do some exercises to help get rid of the weight.

The weekend again

Well it is already Friday again.  Went to ww on Wednesday and lost 4.5 pounds which I think is pretty terrific considering there was Christmas and New Years in there.  Had Swiss chalet for supper tonight, 1/4 chicken dinner with white meat, fries, whole wheat roll and chalet sauce.  Must say that the sauce hasn't gone up in points still one point.  Went on the Swiss Chalet website to get the nutritional information, can't believe though that their french fries are 18 points but that is what is calculated out to.  Going to try and get some exercise in in the morning on the treadmill.  Too tired tonight, long week at work.

First day of exercise

Well actually did some exercise today.  Did 25 minutes on the treadmill.  I bought all the seasons of Sex in the City which I thought would be great to watch as I am on the treadmill because I have never watched another of the series but have watched the 2 movies.  I did the 25 minutes at 2.0 mph I figure I will do that for a week and then go up in speed.  I am going to go up in time for a while until I get more weight off me.  weigh in this week should be interesting.  Yesterday I seem to want to eat everything in sight but it is better today.  Having chicken legs, broccoli, squash and salad for supper.  have to figure out something for lunch tomorrow.  I bought ww weights when I was shopping so will probably make a sandwich of some type.
